I believe that coaching is about fighting for the hearts of your athletes. The way to do this is to have a lot of love in your heart, to be kind, respectful, genuine, authentic, vulnerable, honest and humble. LOVE, remember is not a commodity...it's a CAPACITY...the capacity to CONNECT and CARE for others as you assume the role of servant... you are here to serve them. That's what all Warrior coaches do. THEN, with all the above, athletes will "go the distance" for you, will be loyal, will respect you and be mentally tougher because of this. Simple but powerful.
